Request a COVID Vaccine Exception – Pregnancy

Johns Hopkins will grant exceptions to the COVID vaccination mandate for those who are pregnant or trying to conceive.

Requests for an exception to the vaccine mandate must be made through the Johns Hopkins Vaccine Management System (VMS). If you have general questions, please contact

Log into VMS and select Request exception.

Select COVID-19 vaccine and Pregnancy from the drop down options.

A question will appear asking, “Are you currently pregnant OR attempting to become pregnant AND could biologically carry a pregnancy?” Select Yes, click to check the Verification and Accuracy statement, and press Submit.

Your documentation will be reviewed by a qualified health services staff member. Once validated, you will receive a separate confirmation email with further details.

Because you are unvaccinated (with an approved pregnancy exception), you must wear a face mask at all times and participate in weekly COVID-19 testing. Please also make sure to complete the required COVID Health Check (on the web or via Prodensity) every 12 hours before arriving and while on campus. If you no longer require this exception, and you decide to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, please contact immediately for help.
